Katie has been offering private fiddle/violin lessons since 1994. Fiddle Parlor has a location in North Denver and a location in South Denver. Lessons are taught in a 30 minute or one hour format, depending on the student goals. Areas of study include technique, rhythm, music reading, ear training and theory. Genres of study include classical, old-time fiddle, swing, western swing and jazz.
Katie’s passion for teaching has led her to teach workshops at the National Old-time fiddle contest, Ludiker fiddle camp, Hartz fiddle camp, Midsummer Day’s dream string camp, Peaks to Plains, the Black Rose Society and many more. Katie spent two years teaching at Hartz Music Shop in Meridian Idaho. Now, she is teaching as a guest artist at the Denver School of the Arts, as well as hosting private lessons and jazz violin classes.
