HOWDY TONK
Howdy Tonk is a dual personality, old-time tribute band to Bob Wills, Sons of the Pioneers, Bill Monroe and masters of swing such as Count Basie and Duke Ellington. With an authentic dedication to the WESTERN SWING sounds of Bob Wills and the Texas Playboy’s, Howdy Tonk’s fiddle, rhythm guitar, bass and drums swing it western style. Mixing in clever vocal harmonies, the cowboy themes of the Sons of the Pioneers and a little more of this and that. Popular old standards, with some good old-time fiddling will keep toes tapping and cowboys hollerin’.
Howdy Tank’s second personality is that of the 1930s-40s swing band. With fiddle, trumpet, sax, guitar, piano, drums and bass, this music will keep the dancers swingin'. With great arrangements of tunes from Count Basie, Billy Strayhorn, Duke Ellington, Lester Young and violinist Joe Venuti. This unique instrumentation creates a charming, sophisticated and authentic swing sound.
RENDEZVOUS
The jazz group is an exploration of the violin in “modern,” bebop sounds. The group plays standards, embracing the roots of these tunes and continues with incredible tunes from Monk, Coltrane, Michael Brecker, Miles Davis, Chick Corea and many more. The instrumentation is: Violin, Saxaphone, Piano, Bass and drums.
